Dr. Bateson has given us an update on the Lake levels here at Eagle Lake. As of 7/25/2010, the lake is at 5,096.52 feet. It dropped 2.64 inches in the last two weeks. This is an average of 1.3" per week at this time. Eagle Lake was at its highest point on 5/16/2010 and it has lost 10" since that time or about 1" per week. It is expected that the Lake will drop by 10" - 12" by October 1st bringing the level to 5095.6 feet.
An update from Dr. Bateson on August 25, 2010, the lake level is at 5096 feet, the lowest it has been since 1955

For those of you who were wondering about the cease and desist letters from Lahontan. Scott Ferguson stated there are 40 additional letters going out soon. The 100 sent out last year with the December 21, 2009 date are extended through this summer period. Scott says that they have received a number of completion notices and some abandonment letters as well. He appreciates the work that the residents of Spalding have done in order to comply with their requirements! Scott's happy with the progress and someone from his agency will be attending an upcoming Board meeting to give a report.
