Thanks to those who have sent in Amublance donations!  We are over $6500 now!
We did purchase a 1995 four wheel drive ambulance for $10,000!  Larry Doss, one of the District Directors, would like to match Frank Nunes donation of $500 and challenge Directors and Retired or current Firefighers to make the same donation! Also, Mrs. Simon from Gardnerville moved us $1000 closer to our goal.  We still need $3,500 to make up the difference.  Please help us get this done.  Thanks again to all those who have donated thus far!!!!!!

Weather Report

Spalding is an unincorporated community on the western shore of Eagle Lake in Lassen County. 

The City of Susanville, our County Seat, is located about 35 miles to the Southeast. 

The Spalding Community Services District (SCSD) is a California Special District.  This is a Limited Purpose Local Government encompassing all of the privately  owned land in Spalding with authority under Government Code 61000 or the Community Services District Law.  We offer Recreation, Fire and Wastewater Services.

Our Five Member Board of Directors are both residents and registered voters of Spalding elected to alternating four year terms.  All five Directors ran unopposed in the election in Nov. 2010.
 
The SCSD is active in the Management of the following areas of Community Development and Services.

We have four permanent employees and one extra help person in the summer.  Three of the four work three days per week, while our wastewater operator is a full time employee.

The SCSD Board of Directors encourages all community members; residents and snowbirds alike, to join them in making Spalding a better place for everyone.

 Did you know that we have a quilting group that meets at the Community Center every Tuesday from 10 - 2 pm during most of the year.  Come meet them and bring a project to start, finish or just find out what others are doing! 
There is a new fund raising effort being done by the quilter group.  On September 3, 2012, at the Labor Day breakfast, the quilt seen below will be raffled off and the funds will go toward equipment for the fire department.  Raffle tickets will be $1 each.  They will be sold at each of the Fire Department breakfasts during the summer.  The winning ticket will be drawn on Labor Day!  Buy your tickets early!!!!
